Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

As a privately owned company we strive to operate our business in the most socially responsible way.  We are committed to delivering all aspects of the business with a view to the future by taking into consideration Social, Economic and Environment in the planning, designing and constructing infrastructure.

In order to reduce our impact on the environment we have focused our strategy on waste management and carbon management.  During 2016 we diverted 100% of our excavation material from landfill and established a baseline carbon footprint for our Scope 1 and 2 emissions.  To further optimise our management of excavation material during 2017 we are progressing with the development of a waste recycling facility at our Duncan Street Depot.

A key focus on the social aspects of our business are the wellbeing and development of our own people and the development of the communities within which we work.  In 2016 we carried out Health Surveillances for all our operational staff and continued to implement a full training programme.  In a means to enhance our training opportunities during 2017 we will be rolling out an E-Learning suite.

During 2017 we are furthering our involvement with the local community through our membership with the Salford Chamber of Commerce and engagement with the Carbon Literacy programme that Salford is embarking on.   The aim is to utilise the Carbon Literacy programme to improve our carbon efficiency.

As a business we aim for profitable growth through working with our clients and stakeholders to consider the whole life cycle of the asset.  This is achieved through active engagement with our supply chain and the application of sustainable procurement principles.
